ITB band tightness, rehabilitation and yoga practice


Ok enough is enough. My ITB band is out of control. It's sore hard and is killing my knees and hip joints and god knows what else. As always it's hard to know if the cause, or the effect of poor posture in day to day living, but it needs sorting. I’ll progress updates below.

Progress update 10th February 2015

Dangling one leg from a stair. Last night I remembered a simple stretch that Yoga teacher Peter Clifford recently gave me. He simply suggested I stand on a stair with one straight leg and let the other hang. I gave it a go and it was so simple that I felt a bit stupid. But guess what? This morning, not only does my ITB band feel less tight, I feel a looseness in my hips too. I’m going to try this daily and see how it goes. I love the idea of simple and stupid!
