Do you have too many goals in your life?

A wonderful friend just asked me to take a sneak peek about her new book: about how people getting stuck in modern life, and what we can do about it. I learned a lot!
The 2nd Habit posed the question: Do you have too many goals in your life? At first I thought this was an odd question until I really reflected on it!
And I realised I have way too many goals in my life:
  • Get fitter & thiner
  • Maintain a successful business
  • Become a great yoga teacher
  • Get academic recognition
And I've realised that setting all of these future goals simply creates anxiety!
Now I’m not going to chuck everything in and hot-foot it to an Ashram in India (not immediately anyway)
I’ll still be in London working, studying, teaching and practicing yoga.
But instead I'm going to chuck out the goal-oriented chatter that goes on inside my head, and just go about my everyday life repeating a simpler. more attainable, practical mantra/filter:
  • I’ll do all this stuff in a fun, playful, way, with the intention making those around me happier and hoping to create a better world.
  • Stop focusing on the end result and enjoy the ride. (or as Elaine says the FLOW)
  • Stop trying to see the change and be the change.
Lets see how it goes…...
